In a season of routines, I am learning to cherish what can be commonplace. So for October, I thought I’d share a handful of smaller joys from my month.
“It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.” -Laura Ingalls Wilder
The crunch of leaves under my feet
Watching stray pine needles scatter across the sidewalk
Hearing God’s loving conviction
Being challenged by failure
Breathing in the crisp morning air as I run
Belonging to a church
Long, productive days
A cloudless sky speckled with trillions of stars
Turning seventeen
Cozy Sunday afternoons
Warm sweaters
Gazing up at an umbrella of golden leaves
Early mornings of rest at Jesus’ feet
Bundling up for one last 5k
An early lunch at a unique cafe
Sharing life with a good friend
Late nights studying
Homemade pumpkin granola
