A few smiles from my month-
sweet afternoons with a friend
I am blessed to have a good friend who has breathed both encouragement and wisdom into my life. Our talks and laughs on her front porch have brought joy to a trying month. I’m so thankful for our times together.
coffee shops
Though I enjoy home-roasted coffee, there is a novelty in visiting small town coffee shops. And the overwhelming scent of fresh beans is irreplaceable.
thunder storms
Many times, the simple things in life can reverberate powerful reminders. A few weeks ago, I huddled on the couch to watch a storm unfold. Moments after raindrops puddled on the pavement, the sun soon broke through the threatening sky. As the dark clouds shifted, the sun continued to shine. That pocket of sunshine reminded me of the steadfastness of God. In the darkest moments, God is still on His throne. We may be shadowed from God’s purpose, but we can always be assured of His presence. He continues to shine in our lives, just as the sun never stops shining during a storm.
The Pursuit of God
Tozer’s love for God and conviction to share the treasure of wholehearted devotion drives this book. God spoke to me in so many ways as I processed each chapter. Next week, I have another truth to share that penetrated my heart.
“To have found God and still to pursue Him is the soul’s paradox of love.”
Tozer, The Pursuit of God
