Just a handful of things that brought me joy from July…
more books
I delved into a couple books that I have been wanting to read. Both were small but powerful. The first one I started was Joyful Surrender by Elizabeth Elliot and the second was 70X7 by Monty Christensen (an eye-opening true story of God’s relentless grace)
my shady spot
An unfolded a blanket under the shade of a few trees has become my ideal “writers nook.” Coupled with the sound of trickling water from our pond fountain, that spot has been such a peaceful place to focus on writing.
Genesis
After two months of steeping in Genesis, I have reached the end of the beginning. And I have only dipped my feet in an ocean of treasures tucked in that book. Now, I am two chapters into Exodus, eager to continue following the story of redemption.
podcasts
I have tuned into a couple podcasts that have sharpened my faith over the past few months. One of them that I have listened to more often lately is Revive Our Hearts. Here is the link if you want to check it out.
passing my test
I saved the most celebratory part of my month for last. Yes, I passed my drivers test! I am now free to be on the road…driving without anyone in the passenger seat feels surreal! So far, I have been thankful for no unexpected happenings on the road. π
Congrats on passing your driver’s test!! Very exciting to take on the big open road on your own lol! And totally know what you mean about needing a special “writer’s nook.” Becca got me a portable hammock as a gift for Father’s Day, and I’ve loved taking it in the forest near the river for some good study time.
