A Short Update and My Focus for Summer 2020

I am back!! I took a longer break than usual but I feel refreshed and ready to start blogging! Now that summer is here, my posting schedule should go back to normal…

My focus for summer 2020 is to draw closer to God through His Word. Though I started the school year with the resolve to spend time every day in God’s Word, I let weeks go by without studying. In May, I was convicted and wanted to renew my habit of starting the day with God’s Word. As I began studying every morning, my love for His Word deepened and my joy overflowed. God placed on my heart James 4:8: “Draw night to God and He will draw nigh to you.” He wants us to know Him and grow closer to Him through His Word.

I want to be grounded, so that when seasons of busyness come, I continue to spend time in His presence. My prayer is to grow in undivided devotion-to treasure Him above everything else. Let’s make summer 2020 a time to grow a deeper love for God’s Word.

Psalm 19:7-11:

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
    making wise the simple;
the precepts of the Lord are right,
    rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
    enlightening the eyes;
 the fear of the Lord is clean,
    enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true,
    and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
    even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
    and drippings of the honeycomb.

* Psalm 119 is another the perfect chapter on treasuring God’s word. 🙂
