Be Still

I meant to post this sooner but I have been studying for exams and trying to finish a few major projects for school. Are any homeschoolers feeling left out of school cancellations? πŸ™‚ Anyhow, I want to share a song that has been on my heart for the past few weeks.

This is a song written by the Getty’s and one I heard in church a few weeks ago. It is the perfect song to reflect on during this time of chaos in the world. In the midst of change, uncertainty, or anxiety, I am reminded to sit at Jesus’ feet and quiet my heart. We can turn to turn to Him for rest and renewal. And we can know that He is always with us.

“Still my soul be still
And do not fear
Though winds of change may rage tomorrow
God is at your side
No longer dread
The fires of unexpected sorrow

Still my soul be still
Do not be moved
By lesser lights and fleeting shadows
Hold onto His ways
With shield of faith
Against temptations flaming arrows

Still my soul be still
Do not forsake
The Truth you learned in the beginning
Wait upon the Lord
And hope will rise As stars appear when day is dimming

God You are my God
And I will trust in You and not be shaken
Lord of peace renew
A steadfast spirit within me
To rest in You alone”
