Three Reminders for Seasons of Busyness

These past two weeks have been a whirlwind! I have not had the time to plan many posts for this month, but God is faithful to give me something to write even when my days are full. I want to share a few reminders that have helped me through this season of busyness.

  1. He Will Carry Your Burdens
    When we have long days and little time, worry or stress usually follow. My tendency is to carry my burden without taking it to the One Who can carry it for me. I am reminded of a song I sang in church called Run to Christ. The second verse says

I run to Christ when worn by life
And find my soul refreshed.
“Come unto Me,” He calls through strife;
Fatigue gives way to rest.

We are not meant to hold on to our cares. He calls us to lay our cares at His feet and run into His arms.

2. He Will Make a Way
Let’s face it, we cannot do it all. Sometimes it is not possible to accomplish everything in a day, and that is okay. At the end of the day, what matters most is that you kept Him first. Remain faithful with your work, even when you feel as if you are falling behind. The purpose of our days is to remain faithful to Him in our work. Remember that you are not measured by your performance. Rely on His strength to accomplish what He has called you to do; He will make a way.

3. It is Okay to Rest
Sometimes we are our own obstacles. We pressure ourselves to keep doing, but our to-do list will never truly be done. Before we know it, we can find ourselves in an endless cycle of busyness, always finding something to be done. But rest is important because when we are worn out, we cannot give Him our all. Rest can include taking a short walk outside, spending time doing a hobby you enjoy, or journaling; even just taking five to ten minutes everyday. But the most important thing you can do is to find rest in God, taking time each day to be still.

  1. Wow! Something I have been saying to all of us yet I find myself relying more on my strength then Christ strength. Thank you for the encouragement to keep pressing to strive more on Jesus then myself!

  2. Really helpful reminders! Thanks for sharing! Makes me think of an excellent insight I read sometime in the last year or so:

    “By all means, make your list of to-dos for the day… Then walk in the peace and freedom that, when it shatters on the rocks of reality (which it will most days), you’re not being measured by God by how much you get done.”
